There is something special about seeing a father with his children. In many societies the father is out working, spending much time being the provider. In some cultures it is no surprise when the father leaves the family. It has almost become expected behavior.
That is one of the many reasons I enjoy spending time on the Conde or on the Malecon in Santo Domingo. You see so many families, including the fathers, having a meal or shopping or playing. Often times you will see the father alone with his children, perhaps giving the mother some needed time to herself.I wish all the Dominican hombres a Happy Fathers Day!
