P*R*I*D*E

Many of us celebrate Gay Pride Month, or weekend, in a comfortable place where people are somewhat tolerant. Today I pay tribute to those who are still struggling to be acknowledged, hoping for rights and freedoms that others enjoy. This video clip was shot last year during the first gay pride celebration in Cuba.

Fantasy At A Discount

I was searching for a great vacation spot and came across THIS fantastic deal. I could not believe I was able to get airfare and a luxury resort in the Dominican Republic for the price I usually pay for airfare alone! And to top it all off, the bellhop was extremely helpful. He escorted me around town and even showed me his modest living quarters. Let's just say he did more than carry my luggage.

Now wouldn't that story make your friends envious? Click the link above and get going!

Jet Blue Expands

JetBlue Airways announces the start of its non-stop flights to Santo Domingo's Las Americas International Airport from Fort Lauderdale International (FLL) on Thursday, 18 June. To kick the flight off, the airline is offering promotional fares.
"JetBlue is proud to expand on our success in Fort Lauderdale with new service to Mexico and the Dominican Republic," said Scott Laurence, JetBlue's vice president of network planning. "Customers have come to prefer JetBlue for our in-flight entertainment, generous name-brand snacks, and award-winning customer service - all for one low price." JetBlue will operate its Santo Domingo service with 150-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.

JetBlue Airways launches its direct Boston-Santo Domingo flight this coming Saturday, 19 June. JetBlue will initially offer non-stop flights between Boston and the Dominican capital three days per week (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays) with plans to expand to daily service over the peak winter season. This new non-stop link complements JetBlue's existing connecting service available daily between Boston and the Dominican cities of Puerto Plata, Santiago and Santo Domingo.
"Boston is a major US market with a significant and growing Dominican population and a steadily increasing number of tourists from Boston and surrounding area booking vacations in the Dominican Republic. We are confident that, as a result of this new route, tourism and commercial ties between these two vibrant cities will be strengthened, making this very good news indeed for the Dominican Republic."

You Can Run...

...but you can not hide. The Dominican Republic attracts all kinds of people. Just remember the long arm of the law does reach throughout the caribbean. I'm sure many readers know of another American who was apprehended and shipped back to the States.

US Marshals have arrested accused child molester Joseph Christian Fontana in the DR. Fontana had been on the run from US officials since 2006 when an arrest warrant was issued. Fontana fled Santa Rosa County in California after police began investigating alleged sexual misconduct with minors. He was profiled on the television series "America's Most Wanted" in 2009 and the show was also aired in the DR because he was suspected of being in the country.

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office submitted the case to the US Marshals' Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and requested their assistance in tracking down and apprehending Fontana. The information was passed on to the US Marshals' Foreign Field Office in Santo Domingo, in an attempt to locate and apprehend Fontana. With the assistance of law enforcement in the Dominican Republic, they took Fontana, who had been living in the north coast town of Cabrera, into custody. Listin Diario quoted local resident Antonia Eusebio as saying that Fontana was often seen riding around with children on his motorcycle and that he was known for bathing naked at a local beach.

Fashion Fantasy

Oh well, it seems Andrew Christian was booted off The Fashion Show last Thursday. I was hoping he could pull it together and offer us something more than under garments. Perhaps he should have focused more on what has made him so popular. S-E-X-Y garments. Maybe he will take this experience and work on a new line of sexy apparel for men.

Everything Irie?

I have lost contact with a nice young gentleman from Jamaica I met online. He was open enough, or brave enough, to give me some information about spots to hang out while in Jamaica. If anyone has visited Jamaica recently, or if you live there, please let me know if this information is still accurate.

Midway between MoBay and Ocho Rios is a club called "Heavens."

In MoBay the main hangout is called the Hip Strip.

In Kingston the "Quad Club" is the hot spot.

Thanks for you help!
