READY FREDDY

As travel season gets ready to kick into high gear you've probably started making your plans. One usually thinks about how to get from the airport to the hotel. There are the usual options that can be included by your travel agent, sometimes at a padded cost. Some hotels offer transport for a fee (complimentary if you pay enough for your room).

I have listed my suggestions on the TRAVEL INFO PAGE, which can be found in the Links section. I recently added "Always Ready Freddy" to the list. He has proven himself to be reliable and his rates are reasonable. You may email Freddy at alwaysreadyfreddy@hotmail.com or call him a week before your arrival in Santo Domingo and he will take good care of you. Be advised, Freddy loves to talk, so you will be informed and entertained. When you speak to him, tell him I said "hola!"

BUYER BE WARE, the former policeman is manipulative and has set up many tourists, frequently over charges new visitors to the area because the well seasoned old timers refuse to use his services. The inside scoop amoungst the brothers who now live in Santo Domingo from the States is STEER CLEAR, this guy has been involved in more scams, capers and shady deals than his best friend the now jailed money launderer. Remember PROCEED WITH DUE CAUTION because forwarned is forarmed

His van is dirty and unreliable...he overcharges..and frequently has to stop for gas then has no money to pay for the gas so the passenger has to pay for the gas.....there are so many reliable trustworthy drivers...ask around....

Whoa...
I've used this guy about 12 times and never had a problem with him being a scammer. He charges $30.00 for 2 people and $10 more for more. He's a nice guy and TRUE his van is not that clean but it gets me to my hotel. I like the fact that he was a cop and can legally carry his piece. If he stopped for gas and I gave him a few pesos...it came out of the $30.00 fare and he never had a problem with it. Remember: EVERYONE in Santo Domingo is about making money off of the Americans. Just remember that...
