Colonial Gem
Right in the middle of the Colonial Zone, off the beaten path, are the ruins of the monastery of San Francisco. I have always thought this could be a real jewel. Perhaps a concert venue, amphitheater sort of place with a nice restaurant and gallery.
A few months back, there were talks about a pending altering/remodeling of El Monasterio de San Francisco (under the same vein as the Colonial Zone road reconstruction). Search Google for "Interamerican Development Bank, with reference number IDB301-03 / 15" and you should be able to read about the project.
