The internet has opened the world to people even in once remote places. I'm so glad about that!

I do not believe it is fair to consider Columbia a remote place. Perhaps you refered to this clip as remote because of the appearance of the dwelling. I would rather assume the guy is economically challenged as opposed to living in a remote area. There would probably not be much access to the internet in such remote places.
