Most Valuable
Playing for the Seton Hall Pirates team in New Jersey, 20-year old Angel Delgado has been recognized as the top freshman rebounder in the United States. Delgado who stands 6'9 was recruited from his hometown in Bajos de Haina and has had an outstanding first season from start to finish, averaging nearly a double-double with 9.3 points and a East Conference high 9.9 rebounds. In the Dominican Republic he played basketball with the Club Huellas del Siglo prior to relocating to the US in 2012.
He is a member of the Dominican Republic's national team program. He was named Most Valuable Player of the Nike All-Star Game at the NBA Basketball Without Borders Americas event in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2013. The NBA program will be held in Santo Domingo in summer 2015.
