Here is an inside perspective on what it is like to be gay in Jamaica. A young Jamaican cop tells his story. This video was found on GBMNews. They have news, reviews and commentary for gay people of color. There are many categories to browse, including one on Jamaica. They advocate boycotting the island; travel, music and goods. Is that a bit extreme?

Everything Michael said is true, I live in JA... we just have to try and survive in the best way that we can. ALOT of people have left for other countries just to be free.. As to whether it will ever be different.. it already is... but in a small way
this is just so sad...
what a brave man. i don't know if i could do it.
Its a shame. He can truly come live with me if he can get out fo the country.
Everytime I think that I want to visit the island, I get a reason to cancel the idea. I just can't give my money to a country that punishes people for their sexuality.
Its a shame really. He can apply for asylum somewhere. No one should ever have to tolerate threats on their life on a daily basis. Shame also, especially since Jamaicans don't want anyone to discriminate aginest them, but they feel its o.k. to discriminate againest gays and lesbians.
