Music and More

Festival Brugal de Merengue 2008 will take place at the Avenida del Puerto from July 24-27. This year, in addition to the merengue music by many local and famous artists, the Ministry of Tourism has also coordinated large displays of arts and crafts for sale. Dominican cuisine will also be available.
JetBlue Airways has announced that it will add flights to the Dominican Republic in the fall, filling in when American Airlines cuts many flights to the DR in September. The New York-based low-cost carrier will increase service from John F. Kennedy International Airport to the DR, adding ten weekly flights to Santo Domingo's Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) and six weekly flights to Santiago's Cibao International Airport (STI).
